Matt Damon had big shoes to fill, literally, when he left his footprint in the cement outside Hollywood's famous Chinese Theater this summer (07) after pal George Clooney advised him to upgrade his footwear. Damon joined his Ocean's Thirteen co-stars Clooney and Brad Pitt for the Hollywood Boulevard honour, wearing a pair of shoes that were too big for him after his canny friend called him with a valuable tip. The Bourne Ultimatum star says, "He called me the night before, this conspiratorial phonecall, going, 'Listen, here's the thing... you gotta get big shoes.' "I asked him what he meant and he said that the concrete actually shrinks and I had remembered going there and you go and you see these footprints... and you go, `Robert Mitchum had size five feet? It can't be. John Wayne has girl feet? No.' "So I looked through my closet and I got the biggest shoes I had; I wear an 11 but I had a 12, so I got the 12s... and George showed up wearing size 14s.".

Clooney, Matt Damon and Brad Pitt were asked to place their hands and feet in cement outside Hollywood landmark Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and told Walk of Fame officials they’d only do it if Weintraub joined them.

The producer was thrilled but had no idea Clooney would make him feel small on the big day.

He recalls, “Clooney went out and bought three size 14 pairs of shoes. My shoes are (size) 10, so when we put our feet in cement, Pitt, Damon and George have these huge feet… and 50 years from now they’re gonna come and look at my feet and say, ‘Weintraub had a problem.'”
